Best known as an ornithological artist, Daniel Cole also specialises in abstract landscapes. Based in Cornwall and with a studio in the Old Bakery Studios in Truro, Daniel was invited to become full member of the Society of Wildlife Artists in 2005.
Daniel has won several awards for his work, including PJC award for drawing, Bird illustrator of the Year 2000, RSPB Fine Art award, Dry Red Press and in 2016 Swarovski/Birdwatch Artist of the year. Alongside his work as gallery artist, Daniel has worked as an illustrator for many years, with his bird illustrations appearing in numerous publications. Working predominantly in oils, Daniel makes sketches in the field using them as a starting point for his paintings which he then develops in his studio with his unique approach to colour and abstraction.
